An Epic Core Inside The Keyboard

A powerful ARM architecture MCU equipped with 256K Flash will provide more flexibility for developers. The polling rate is 1000 Hz right out of the box, which makes the latency hardly noticeable even in competitive games.

OSA Profile Double-shot PBT Keycaps

These double-shot PBT keycaps have a similar height to the OEM profile and has an SA-like shape. We named it the OSA (OEM spherical angled) keycap. The PBT keycaps will provide excellent oil resistance, enhance the type feel, and prevent the legends from fading out.

Switch Layouts Between macOS & Windows

Built with the Mac users’ experience in mind while still retaining compatibility for Windows devices, the Keychron V6 Max comes with a system toggle and an additional set of customized keycaps for both Windows and macOS systems. You can now save two different layouts on the keyboard, one for each system.

Gasket Mount Design

By adopting a gasket mount design along with a PC (Polycarbonate) plate, the V6 Max reduces acoustic resonance, delivering a softer and quieter typing experience with enhanced flexibility.

Gasket Mount Design

Hot-swappable

The hot-swappable sockets are mounted on the PCB, so you can install or change the switches without soldering. The PCB supports both 3-pin and 5-pin MX mechanical switches.

South-facing RGB LED Lights

The south-facing RGB LED is designed to better illuminate the keyboard backlight from the typist’s angle with the premium non-shine-through PBT keycaps installed. The south-facing RGB is also free from interference when the users install OEM or Cherry-profile alternative keycaps on the keyboard.

Gateron Jupiter Switch

Our exclusive Gateron Jupiter mechanical switch (for the Fully Assembled version only) comes with a 3-pin design, its pre-lubed with a reliable Gateron quality standard with up to 80 million keystrokes lifespan. While their unique LED diffuser design offers high RGB backlight transmittance and softer backlight effect. The banana switch provides an early tactile bump at the top with a uniquely smooth experience like those Panda switches on the market.

Mem-chanical user loving the sound and functionality

Really loving the sound, feel and look of it. Went from full black keyboard with small amount of backlight LEDs to this beauty of design. Haven't used the keyboard enough to have grasped every functionality of it, so far only changed the light function to solid and "responsive to key presses", have successfully tried VIA website for customizing the keyboard, but lacking the option to create my own lights as I'd assume the firmware controls the 1 to X options of light pre-sets there are (as seen in a json file) or I have probably not yet found a way to do that.

This is my first mechanical keyboard. So I am quite glad about it.
What could be better:
1. Convenient Off/On switch when keyboard is in wireless mode. I can switch to wired mode... but switch is not for dally use... there is need something separate... (I need protection for cat sitting on keyboard)
2. Knob is in very incontinent place. I use Ctr+F12 a lot and this knob being big and near F12 is not an option for me... probably I search a mod to remove it or make it more flat. It was match better option if knob was on the side of keyboard.
3. Keyboard programing/configuration not worked for me... and I can't spend days to figure that out. More clear instruction would probably work.
VIA is complaining that device not found or not activated.... :/
With QMK it was not clear what device it is... there was 4 options... ISO/ANSI/Encoder variations... not clear enough... ANSI+Encoder I suppose.... do not wanted to brick or miss configure device at first days...
4.There is no Scroll Lock button with On/Off light probably configurable with QMK/VIA... but -> point 3.

Well, everything else look quite nice for me :)

Great Keyboard but slighty soft keys

It's nice but the keys are sligthly muchy

great for the price, but with incl. keycaps the backlight is just a gimmick

CONS
- gateron red switches are a bit too squishy, sure, they are linear, but it is hard to guess the actuation depth by their reaction to pressure.
- i like that the backlight is used to indicate the state of caps lock and the num lock (better than three ugly green leds at the top right corner as most KBs have) but it could spill below other keys a bit, esp. with caps lock its hard to know if it is on or off without looking straight from the top of the keyboard, as from the front it is completely hidden by the shift key. best if the strength & radius of the indicator backlight could be reprogrammable from VIA too?
- keep in mind that the included keycaps do not allow the light from the backlight to pass through neither the key nor the legends, so in the dark it is kinda useless.

PROS
- the knob and macro keys above the numbar are both very useful (also there is somethic cathartic about changing the volume with a knob instead of a button).
- love the option to switch between cable and wireless modes easily.
- the build is plasticky as you would expect at this price range, but the top side of the keyboard does not feel cheap at all (the plastic on the bottom is a bit softer and meh, but if thats the part of the KB you see most of the time then you might be using it wrong).
- the sound of the switches is quite satisfying (although I find sound of the spacebar too... cracky? its just a bit too high pitched compared to the rest of the keys. in a way its likable and sounds a bit like a typing machine but its also a bit too disturbing compared to the rest).
- VIA support is extremely welcome and works for the knob too
- the KB comes with one extra lock glyph keycap to use instead of the cortana/siri one, so you can reprogram the key to lock/sleep the computer (or do anything else) rather than to summit the useless voice assistants.
- based on the pics/videos i thought that the gray-blue keycaps would look a bit too boring and retro and planned to switch them for something else, but in person i kinda dig both the color (they are more blue than gray) as well as the slightly uneven font used for the legends.
- there is something about the symmetry of the keyboard that i really like (it just looks perfectly rectangularly, for instance because the top right corner just has more keys instead of indicators).

TL;DR
overall its a solid option for ~80€, but even if you plan to use it for gaming, its better to get the brown switches instead of the red ones. the backlight is more of an RGB gimmick, since with the default keycaps it does not provide neither of the possible practical purposes (being able to see the legends in the dark, and in case of caps lock, being able to see if its on or off - for num lock its fine as you see it from the left side but when would you ever turn that one off).
