2.4 GHz & Bluetooth Connection

Experience peak gaming performance on the fly with the 2.4 GHz wireless connection boasting a rapid 1000 Hz polling rate. For seamless multitasking across your computer, phone, and tablet, you can effortlessly connect the V5 Max via Bluetooth 5.1 to three devices.

Dual Receivers

For a better 2.4 GHz wireless experience, the V5 Max comes with Type-C and Type-A receivers. Enjoy the quick plug-and-play time. Or, put them away in the keyboard magnetic storage slot at the top right corner.

An Epic Core Inside The Keyboard

A powerful ARM architecture MCU equipped with 256K Flash will provide more flexibility for developers. The polling rate is 1000 Hz right out of the box, which makes the latency hardly noticeable even in competitive games.

OSA Profile Double-shot PBT Keycaps

These double-shot PBT keycaps have a similar height to the OEM profile and has an SA-like shape. We named it the OSA (OEM spherical angled) keycap. The PBT keycaps will provide excellent oil resistance, enhance the type feel, and prevent the legends from fading out.

Switch layouts between macOS & Windows

Built with the Mac users’ experience in mind while still retaining compatibility for Windows devices, the Keychron V5 Max comes with a system toggle and an additional set of customized keycaps for both Windows and macOS systems. You can now save two different layouts on the keyboard, one for each system.

Gasket Mount Design

By adopting a gasket mount design along with a PC (Polycarbonate) plate, the V5 Max reduces acoustic resonance, delivering a softer and quieter typing experience with enhanced flexibility.

Hot-swappable.

The hot-swappable sockets are mounted on the PCB, so you can install or change the switches without soldering. The PCB supports both 3-pin and 5-pin MX mechanical switches.

South-facing RGB LED Lights

The south-facing RGB LED is designed to better illuminate the keyboard backlight from the typist’s angle with the premium non-shine-through PBT keycaps installed. The south-facing RGB is also free from interference when the users install OEM or Cherry-profile alternative keycaps on the keyboard.

Gateron Jupiter Switch

Our exclusive Gateron Jupiter mechanical switch (for the Fully Assembled version only) comes with a 3-pin design, its pre-lubed with a reliable Gateron quality standard with up to 80 million keystrokes lifespan. While their unique LED diffuser design offers high RGB backlight transmittance and softer backlight effect.
The banana switch provides an early tactile bump at the top with a uniquely smooth experience like those Panda switches on the market.

Loved the keyboard. Hated Keychron’s logistics and delivery prices

The keyboard is amazing. I was afraid I wouldn’t like the banana switch, but it’s really good. However, I’ve gotta say that Keychron lacks on products availability since MANY products are always out of stock in lots of regions, specially in Europe. And also, the cost for delivery is CRAZY high. Very disappointed with that.
BUT, the keyboard was worth the trouble. It is definitely amazing.

An excellent keyboard barebones kit at an excellent price

This is my first customizable mechanical keyboard and I can say that I am completely satisfied with it. I ordered the barebones kit along with the Baby Kangaroo 2.0 Gateron switches and some Cherry Profile keycaps from a third party.

Assembly was clearly explained and the process went super smoothly. I did get a tiny scare when I saw the Fn key not responding but that's by design, would be nice to have that explained in the box as well along with a test procedure for the barebones kits to ensure no switch has been put improperly.

The Keychron Launcher software was relatively clean and simple to use, I got it up and running within 20 minutes with my expected layout. I also did have a minor issue here where it suggested a firmware update in the launcher incorrectly and it soft bricked the board, but I was able to find an FAQ and reset it fully and set my layout again, although it would be nice if that could be fixed.

One final minor gripe would be the amount of lube being too high on the preinstalled stabilizers but I guess that's just par for the course for these types of products.

The typing experience is superb, to the point where I am finding it quite difficult to type on cheap keyboards now since I don't get the sort of feedback I am used to at home.

I would definitely recommend this layout for anyone wishing to have a large set of options with regards to functions while still being a bit more compact compared to the 100%. I personally don't like anything under 80% so I can't say how that would impact productivity.

Glad to have purchased this and I hope to upgrade to a Q Max series board sometime in the future just for the looks and feel of a metal case, but I suppose this board is going to last me a long time!
